We will send both EAN and UPC barcode formats when you order. The UPC barcodes are mainly used in the USA/Canada. Whereas, the EAN barcodes are used everywhere outside of the US/Canada. If selling on Walmart.com, please use the UPC codes only. If you are selling on Google Merchant/Shopping - please only use the EAN codes. If selling on Amazon, you can use either the UPC or EAN barcodes. However, please note for Amazon, certain categories and sub-categories will only accept the EAN format codes.

Because these barcodes belong to legacy prefixes issued before the 2002 UCC settlement, they do not require a GS1 subscription.

Why are there no annual renewal or membership fees?

In 2002, a class-action settlement (UCC v. GS1) determined that owners of prefixes issued prior to August 28 2002, are not subject to GS1's renewal fee structure. We own these legacy prefixes and legally subdivide them to our customers.
Unlike the current GS1 model, which acts as a "lease" (where codes expire if fees aren't paid), a purchase from Barcodes Hub represents a permanent transfer of ownership for that specific GTIN.
Will my Barcodes Hub codes be flagged by Amazon's GS1 verification?
No. Because our barcodes were issued before the GS1 licensing change in 2002, they are 'grandfathered' into the system. When Amazon checks the GEPIR database, they find a valid prefix, ensuring your listing stays active.
